As I reflect on April 17th, 1982 and the meaning in carries, one thing jumps out at me. You know what we are celebrating today? We are celebrating the birth and life of someone truly inspirational. I can not think of anyone else who inspires more people than you do. The stirring you cause inside people is undeniable. People respond to being inspired in different ways. Some pull back because they are afraid to recognize shortfalls within themselves. Some don't make any changes at all but gain a sense of purpose they previously did not have. And many become better wives, mothers, teachers, husbands, friends, athletes, students, employees, employers, and most amazingly, people.
Sometimes we talk about what attracted a kid from the wrong side of the tracks to a girl who embodied the right side of the tracks. I can summarize it in three words: I was inspired. And you have never stopped inspiring me. Every good part of who I am, and every part of who I want to be, is inspired by you. That is why thousands of people visit Mooreminutes every day too. We are inspired. You show us beauty in places where we previously did not look. You encourage us to find joy in everything. And you teach us how to find purpose in living.
Inspiration is a moment in time that carries more positive value than any other moment. An inspired moment is worth more than a moment of accomplishment, a moment of relaxation, or a moment of peace. To be inspired is to truly feel alive. During these moments, we suddenly have purpose and value we do not have at any other time. Inspired moments are perhaps the most valuable moments of our lives. And for most people, inspired moments are the most rare. There are people who go through their life and are never inspired. But not me. Every moment I am with you, I am inspired. I believe with all of my heart, nobody else can inspire me as much as you do. You inspire our sons too. The depth they have as people, the love they have for life, is completely inspired by you. We are lucky people indeed.
